Introduction: Laserlipolysis is an emerging technique in the treatment for localized fat and Skin tightening. This therapy has a shorter post-operative recovery time and fewer adverse effects than conventional liposuction.
Objective: This study describes the authors’ experience in laserlipolysis and evaluates the technique’s safety and efficacy.
Methods: Retrospective study of 120 patients who underwent laserlipolysis, which was administered via two devices with different wavelengths: 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser and 924 nm/975 nm diode laser.
Results: According to clinical and photographic follow up, there was a significant improvement in localized fat in the definition of the body’s contour and in the skin tightening in all studied patients; 108 patients were satisfied with the technique. There were no cases of atrophic scars, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation or infection.
Conclusions: If properly recommended and carefully carried out, laserlipolysis is a safe and highly satisfactory option for the treatment localized fat and sagging skin.

Axillary hyperhidrosis is a common pathology that disrupts patients’ social and professional lives and requires appropriate therapy. Traditional treatments include topical and systemic therapies, iontophoresis, botulinum toxin, and surgical procedures. An innovative technique that uses subdermal laser has shown excellent results, few side effects and high patient satisfaction. This paper presents a case report of treating axillary hyperhidrosis with subdermal laser with an excellent response.

Laser lipolysis is a therapeutic modality that is currently used to treat localized fat and promote cutaneous retraction. Compared to conventional liposuction, removing fat using laser lipolysis has a shorter post-operative recovery time and fewer adverse effects. Applying laser directly to adipose tissue causes fat liquefaction, blood vessel coagulation and collagen denaturation. The thermal damage induces neocollagenesis and skin contraction. Laserlipolysis has been proven a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of the aging of the cervical region. The technique involves the use of laser energy to induce lipolysis and encouraging neocollagenesis,removing submental fat and acting on local skin sagging. The present article offers a brief review of laserlipolysis in the treatment of the cervical region and reports the authors' experience in the use of the technique.

Radiofrequency is considered a safe and non-invasive method for treating cutaneous sagging and for improvement of the body and facial contours. It has proven effectiveness, which is however limited in the more serious cases of ptosis. The effects of radiofrequency are based on the volumetric heating of the deep dermis, heating the collagen and elastic fibers. The heat generated by the radiofrequency leads to the contraction of collagen, improving the skin's firmness and elasticity. Furthermore, the heating induces the activation of fibroblasts, leading to neocollagenization (altered in diameter, thickness and frequency), with subsequent tissue remodeling.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a common consequence of inflammatory dermatoses that tends to affect patients with higher phototypes more frequently and severely. It can be caused by any skin inflammation or lesion, including acne, eczema, contact dermatitis or burns. Topical therapies are generally effective, however in some cases the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is resistant to conventional treatments, such as chemical peels and laser therapy. The percutaneous collagen induction technique can be used in postinflammatory hyperpigmentation with good response. The authors describe a case of hyperchromia resulting from a burn caused by Alexandrite laser for hair removal that was resistant to conventional treatments. Based on the literature review and their clinical experience, the authors suggest that the percutaneous collagen induction technique — also known as microneedling — may be included in the therapeutic armamentarium for the treatment of postinflammatory skin hyperpigmentation, especially when there is resistance to conventional treatments.

Introduction: Managing pain during the performance of dermatological procedures is a challenge. Several topical anesthetics are available for use prior to carrying out minimally invasive treatments.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of topical anesthetics for reducing the pain during dermatological procedures and to compare the effectiveness of two different anesthetics using the visual numeric pain scale.
Methods: Twenty-five patients underwent facial dermatological procedures after the application of two commercial preparations: one containing 7% lidocaine and 7% tetracaine (applied in one hemiface) and the other containing 4% lidocaine. Each of the preparations was applied in one hemiface. Pain intensity was assessed using the Visual Numeric Pain Scale (VNS) at the end of the procedure.
Results: Eighty-four percent of the patients reported a lower pain score in the hemiface that received the commercial preparation containing 7% lidocaine and 7% tetracaine. The mean pain score in the hemifaces that received the 4% lidocaine preparation was 7.3, while that computed for the hemifaces that received the 7% lidocaine and 7% tetracaine preparation was 5.3.
Conclusions: Topical anesthetics are effective and safe for pain reduction in dermatological procedures, with the commercial preparation containing 7% lidocaine and 7% tetracaine was more effective than the one containing 4% lidocaine.

INTRODUCTION: Acne vulgaris, considered a chronic inflammatory and multifactorial disease, presents several therapeutic options. The use of probiotics is a good adjunctive treatment option due to its anti-inflammatory effect.
OBJECTIVE: Based on the promising character of these studies, which derive mostly from oral probiotic therapy, we decided to investigate what results could come from the topical use of a probiotic bacterium that has undergone the tyndallization process.
METHODS: In this study, we demonstrated the topical use of Lactobacillus plantarum GMNL06, alone, for three months.
RESULTS: We obtained a therapeutic response considered good or very good in 90% of mild or moderate acne cases.
CONCLUSIONS:Vulgar acne, considered a chronic inflammatory and multifactorial disease, presents several therapeutic options. The use of probiotics has become an adjunct treatment due to its anti-inflammatory effect. In this study, we demonstrated that the use of topical probiotics, in monotherapy, for three months obtained therapeutic response considered good or very good in 90% of mild or moderate acne cases.
