Introduction: Several therapeutic modalities have been used to treat keloids and hypertrophic scars. Objective: Treatment of keloids and hypertrophic scars with excision and intralesional injection of methotrexate. Methods: Therapeutic intervention open study with 11 patients. Laboratory tests and photographs were carried out before, during, and after the treatment. From the seventh day after the excision of the lesions, the suture was injected weekly with methotrexate for six months. The weekly dose was 2.5 mg / 10cm suture, with a maximum dose of 5mg per patient. The evaluation was carried out by the physician and the patient. Results: Six months after the end of the treatment, there was no recurrence of the lesion in five cases, partial recurrence in six cases and an absence of cases with total recurrence. No alterations were observed in the laboratory tests. Conclusions: The maximum weekly dose of 5mg methotrexate for six months used in this pilot study to treat keloids and hypertrophic scars is safe and hinders recurrence. Further studies are needed to complement the present paper.

Introduction: Introduction: Androgenic alopecia is the most common type of alopecia. It is characterized by alterations in the hair cycle, leading to progressive follicular miniaturization. Platelet-rich plasma, promotes angiogenesis in the tissue by action of growth factors, which stimulate the hair follicle Objective: To eveluate the hair growth in androgenic alopecia, through cell stimulation performed with the subcutaneous injection of platelet-rich plasma. Methods: Three injections of platelet-rich plasma were performed in 18 patients, at 21-day intervals.The evaluation was performed through comparative clinical photographs, dermoscopy, as well from responses to questionnaires. The Mann-Whitney test and Wilcoxon test were used to analyze the results. Results: For seven women who completed the study, the average improvement was 42.85% (patients) and 35.71% (external observer). For the 9 males, the average improvement was 25.55% (patients) and 18.88% (external observer). In Dermoscopy were observed thickening of hairs, improved local circulation and increased number of follicles. Conclusions: An effective and satisfactory response in androgenic alopecia was verified in relation to the platelet-rich plasma injection technique.

INTRODUCTION: Progressive Facial Hemiatrophy, also known as Parry Romberg Syndrome, is a rare form of linear scleroderma. The management of facial atrophy sequelae is challenging.
OBJECTIVE: This study aims to evaluate for the first time in literature the effectiveness of the calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) filler in the jawline reshaping of a patient with Parry Romberg Syndrome.
CASE REPORT: A 15-year-old woman with progressive atrophy of the right side of the face due to Parry Romberg Syndrome. After disease control, the patient’s main complaint was facial asymmetry, mainly in the jawline region.
DISCUSSION: CaHa is a biocompatible injectable filler that is gradually resorbed and replaced by fibrovascular stroma, mainly formed for new collagen, in a process that occurs without any immunological reaction. This safety profile makes CaHa a good choice for correcting stable scleroderma defects.
CONCLUSION: This report concludes that CaHa filler biocompatibility and suitability for the jawline correction are also applicable in reconstructive procedures for stable scleroderma, safely and minimally invasively, with optimal aesthetic results. The method must be programmed case-by-case, and a regular follow-up is also recommended.

BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has expanded the use of social interaction technologies, connecting individuals virtually. This change has brought a new trend of dissatisfaction with appearance induced by social media, motivating the excessive search for aesthetic procedures.
OBJECTIVE: To assess the impact generated by the use of apps during the pandemic on the self-image of respondents by biological sex, age, and family income.
METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional study with 350 participants, aged 18 years or older, residing in the state of São Paulo - Brazil, through online dissemination of an electronic form. The data obtained were tabulated and analyzed by chi-square and Cochran tests, crossing the variables income, age, and biological sex.
RESULTS: Of the total, 69.71% claim changes in the way they see themselves physically during the pandemic; 58.3% report that apps influence their self-image, as 70.6% of the answers are women between 18- 29 years old; 73.9% of women of all ages and incomes recognized the importance of skin for self-image, with this finding being discrepant among the age groups of men.
CONCLUSIONS: The use of apps during the pandemic impacted the self-image of the participants leading them to have a greater interest in obtaining future treatments and aesthetic procedures.
