Skin cancer is the main neoplasia in both men and women. Basal cell carcinoma is the primary type of head and neck tumor, comprising 25% of nasal tumors. The treatment of choice is exeresis, which often presents a challenge to the dermatologic surgeon, who must achieve an oncologic cure along with a good aesthetic result. The options for nasal reconstruction are diverse, and some are high in complexity, preventing their common use. The authors present the reconstruction of the nasal dorsum using a flap from de glabellar area, a safe procedure with low surgical complexity and performed in a single step, making it a good option for large lesions of the nasal dorsum.

The malar region is the site of skin tumors and sometimes a primary closure is not possible after the excision of the lesion. The A-T flap is a good method for reconstructing an broad and deep defect in which the local surrounding tissue does not allow direct closure. The present study describes the implementation of an A-T flap as an option for the reconstruction of an operative wound secondary to the excision of a basal cell carcinoma.

Oncologic ear resection can create partial skin and / or cartilage defects that make reconstruction of this site difficult and challenging. Several techniques have been described, however few cases of surgery for defects in the cauda helicis have been reported. The authors describe an interpolation flap in this anatomical location for the correction of a defect secondary to the excision of a basal cell carcinoma.

INTRODUCTION: Ingrown toenail is the leading cause of nail surgery. Techniques have been described for better exposure of the nail matrix in Grade III treatment, such as block excision of the hypertrophic skin margins and the subcutaneous nail blade involved, removing a semi-elliptic wedge and or L-incision, both advocating closure by suturing the skin and the nail blade. Authors describe the application of an incision technique at the intersection of the lateral and proximal nail fold to expose the matrix and the performing of a wedge in the cutaneous hypertrophy. At the site of the nail blade removal a fragment is left by second intention.
OBJECTIVE: To assess the comfort and effectiveness of the new surgical technique for onychocryptosis.
METHODS: Observational and retrospective study through the analysis of 29 patients with onychocryptosis who underwent the new technique.
RESULTS: Of the 34 nail folds (5 patients had 2 affected nail folds) submitted to surgery using the new technique, only one patient had recurrence in one of the folds and underwent a new intervention. No complaints of postoperative discomfort or complications were observed.
CONCLUSIONS: The applied technique was satisfactory, with a low recurrence rate, and also easy to perform, presenting no discomfort complaints from patients.

Introduction: Acne Vulgaris is a skin disease that, with the advent of social media, has become more susceptible to the spread of unreliable information.
Objective: This study aims to characterize the influence of social media on the treatment choice for Acne Vulgaris without medical advice, identify complications of inadequate treatments, and highlight the most influential social media for this purpose and the life quality of these patients.
Methods: It is a descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach whose sample consisted of 306 social media users over 18 years of age. After signing the Informed Consent ("Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido - TCLE)" the data was collected through a self-administered form along with the questionnaire "Dermatology Life Quality Index - DLQI-BRA" via "Google forms" over 30 days. The data was then tabulated online and analyzed according to descriptive statistics.
Results: The results showed a great impact, especially from "Instagram", in the dissemination of content on the subject and highlighted the role of the dermatologist on social networks as the source of information chosen by the public.
Conclusions: The public was strict about the quality of the information, but there is still a need for greater insertion of trained professionals and information based on scientific evidence on social media.
