The purse-string suture is one of the several repair options in dermatologic surgery. Its main indications are round or oval wounds on the trunk and limbs.
The authors describe the combination of purse string suture and second intention healing for a surgical defect after removal of a basal cell carcinoma on the temple.
The purse-string suture is an important closure method that may yield good results in selected cases. Although it is more often indicated on the trunk and limbs, it may be performed on the temple to avoid more complex repair.

Lip reconstruction after tumor excision is challenging because the results must be functional and cosmetic. In this context, Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) is essential in ensuring maximum tissue preservation, with lower recurrence rates and the possibility of less complicated reconstructions.We report three cases of lip tumors treated with Mohs surgery, whose reconstruction was performed with island advancement flaps (V-Y).The relevance of the correct management of this type of tumor is discussed,highlighting the use of Mohs surgery and V-Y advancement flap,which provide satisfactory aesthetic and functional results.

Skin cancer frequently occurs on the pinna. The three-dimensional conformation and the limited availability of redundant regional skin make the reconstruction of this anatomical area challenging. We report the reconstruction of anti-tragus using an earlobe transposition flap.
