Persistent Intermittent Delayed Swelling (PIDS) due to hyaluronic acid implantation is an immune-mediated inflammatory reaction resulting from immunogenic phenomena to the filler itself, and its ability to retain water, thus configuring local edema. Viral or bacterial infections can trigger the condition. As with many infectious diseases, COVID-19 may have several signs and symptoms on the skin that are not yet fully understood, but many associated skin manifestations have already been described. Through this case report, we report the novelty of an ETIP-type reaction triggered by SARS-CoV-2 infection.

A Covid-19, doença causadora de síndrome gripal e insuficiência respiratória aguda, vem demonstrando provocar danos a diversos outros órgãos e sistemas. Várias manifestações dermatológicas já foram descritas. Relatamos um quadro de alopecia areata (AA) desencadeada possivelmente pela Covid-19 em paciente que, apesar de ter seu RT-PCR para SARS-CoV-2 negativo, apresentou IgM reagente e sintomatologia clássica relacionada à doença. Acreditamos que a Covid-19 possa ter desencadeado resposta imunológica autoimune, com a consequente produção de interferons, que levou ao quadro de AA.

INTRODUCTION: Parry-Romberg syndrome and linear scleroderma en coup de sabre are disorders within the scleroderma spectrum, a disease that presents therapeutic challenges.
OBJECTIVES: We treated three patients with this condition using poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) with the aim of alleviating facial asymmetries and evaluated the real improvement of scleroderma lesions with high-resolution ultrasound.
METHODS: The patients underwent two to four sessions of biostimulation with PLLA over a 12-month period.
RESULTS: The results were promising, demonstrating favorable cosmetic outcomes with increased thickness of the dermis and hypodermis as evidenced by high-resolution ultrasound.
CONCLUSIONS: Biostimulation with PLLA is a safe and effective treatment option for these patients when administered by trained professionals.
