To the Editors of Surgical & Cosmetic Dermatology

Firstly we would like to congratulate the Editors for the competent work carried by the Surgical & Cosmetic Dermatology editorial team, who always greet us with articles of great quality.

Secondly, I would like to bring some information to the attention of the readers and, in special, to the authors of the study "Atypical presentation of a granular cell tumor", Surg Cosmet Dermatol 2015;7(1):72-4, regarding the reference located in the section "Discussion".

In the first paragraph, the Authors of the study state: " In the literature there were no reports of the tumor being present in the upper limbs, as in the case described in this paper."

In fact there are 2 cases of Abrikossoff's tumor located in upper limbs that have been published in the journal Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia, and can be verified on the publication's website or by looking them up on the issues of the journals in which they have been quoted, namely:

1. Abriokossoff's tumor located in the palmar region (Delfini Filho O, Araujo JRS, Tokairim TY, Nascimento AJ - Tumor de Abrikossoff Relato de um caso. An Bras Dermatol. 1983, 58:175-6)

2. Abriokossoff's tumor located in the cubital fossa of the upper left limb (Dell'Horto AG, Pinto JM, MS Diniz - Caso para diagnóstico. Tumor de Abrikossoff : localização não usual. An Bras Dermatol. 2013, 88: 475-7)

It would therefore be interesting that the authors keep informed, as well as the readers of "Surgical & Cosmetic Dermatology." According to the literature, this may suggest that we could have the primacy of having described 3 cases of this rare tumor in an unusual location (upper limbs) in two scientific Brazilian journals, which are official publications of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology.

Grateful for the valuable attention,

Oswaldo Delfini Filho
